Police arrests a drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Alamgunj Daderkoot crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Mohammad Sanaullah Malik son of Ghulam Mohd Malik resident of Hanger, Kulgam. During search, officers were able to recover 8Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance concealed in a nylon bag from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 74/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Behibagh and investigation has been initiated, he added.
