Satish Chandra presides over maiden meet of JK RERA-Realtors at Jammu

JAMMU: In a landmark initiative to bolster the real estate sector’s transparency and accountability, the maiden JK RERA–Realtors meet was held Tuesday at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

The event, held under the Chairmanship of Chairman, JK RERA, Satish Chandra, was also attended by Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur. The meet marks a pivotal step towards aligning the real estate operations within the region with the regulatory framework established by JK RERA.

The meeting witnessed an enthusiastic participation from local realty promoters and real estate agents, indicating the sector’s eagerness to align with the regulatory mandates. The focus of the meet was to enlighten the attendees about the provisions and requirements of JK RERA and the department has made a detailed presentation on provisions of RERA Act 2016 and J&K RERA Rules 2020.

The Chairman, JK RERA, emphasized the importance of compliance with the RERA Act, which is designed to protect the interests of home buyers and enhance the real estate sector’s integrity. He highlighted the critical aspects of the Act, including registration of real estate projects, timely project completion and transparent transaction processes.

The session facilitated a comprehensive dialogue between the stakeholders, the regulatory body and the government allowing for an exchange of ideas and concerns regarding implementation of JK RERA mandates. The meet also served as a platform for realty promoters and agents to understand their roles and responsibilities in fostering a more organized and accountable real estate market.

The convening of this meet signifies a significant stride towards ensuring a robust regulatory framework for the real estate sector in Jammu and Kashmir, promising a future marked by transparency, accountability and growth.
