This arrival comes after a notably warm Chillai Kalan, the traditional and severe winter period that precedes the first snow, leaving residents and nature enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the transformative touch of winter.

The familiar sights of emerald-green meadows and russet-hued landscapes are replaced by a pristine white canvas, a testament to nature’s artistry. The snow-clad mountains stand tall, their peaks glistening like jewels in the soft glow of the winter sun.
This year the warmth that characterized Chillai Kalan, in contrast to its usual biting cold, had left many wondering about the fate of the iconic Kashmir winter.
