Shopian: The CT Scan machine at District Hospital Shopian has been made operational on Thursday, health officials said.

As per the health officials, the initiative aims to bolster the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, providing advanced imaging services to the local community and the addition of CT scan is expected to expedite and improve the accuracy of medical diagnoses, marking a substantial stride in healthcare accessibility for residents.

Mitha Gatoo, a social activist said  that despite upgradation of Shopian hospital to a District Hospital, the hospital was still functioning without the much-needed facility.

He said that after repeated reminders to the government this facility was approved and finally made functional now.

Officials said that the CT Scan machine at District Hospital Shopian is now operational, with expert doctors and skilled para-medical technicians available to provides services to the patients.

They said that there is no longer the need to travel outside the district for such examinations.

‘The facility is equipped with the latest technology, allowing for quicker and more detailed scans. With improved imaging capabilities, doctors will be better positioned to detect and diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, from subtle abnormalities to more complex issues,” they added.

“Patients can now benefit from reduced scan times, increased comfort, and enhanced accuracy in diagnoses,” they said, adding that the streamlined processes within the facility aim to minimize waiting times, ensuring that individuals receive timely and efficient medical attention.

“This development is a testament to our commitment to advancing healthcare services in the region,” they added.

They further added that the CT scan facility is poised to play a pivotal role in early detection and treatment, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and overall community well-being.
