Sankalp Saptah: Poshan Melas held in Aspirational Block Mazgam, D K Marg
KULGAM: Under Sankalp Saptah initiative, the District Administration Wednesday organized Poshan Melas at Block offices of Aspirational Block Manzgam and DK Marg.
These Melas were inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Viqar Ahmed Giri,
Addressing the gathering, ADDC said that proper nutrition is vital at every stage of life, especially for children to stimulate their mental and physical growth.
He said that the aim of the programme is to educate people and health workers especially about the significance of proper nutrition for pregnant women, regular ante-natal check-ups, institutional delivery and immunization for infants.
Under Sankalp Saptah, different activities including, Swasthya Mela, Poshan Mela, Swachata Shivir at Gram Panchayats focusing on cleanliness, Krishi Mahotsav focusing on agriculture, Shiksha Ek Sankalp focusing on education, Samriddhi Diwas focusing on livelihoods and Samavesh Samaroh are to be held in these two blocks.
ACD, Mohd Imran; SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan; CDPO, BDO and other officers were present in the melas, besides PRI members locals, pregnant women, children and Adolescent Girls also participated in the programme.
