Anantnag: Even after a lapse of over six years, the health and wellness center in Dadoo area of Bijbehara hamlet in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district is awaiting completion.

The residents of the Dadoo area said that the work on health and wellness centre in the area was started around six years back but the building is yet to be completed.

They said that a centre was working in a rented accommodation, however, due to unknown reasons the center has been shifted to some other area.

“In absence of any health care facilities, the locals are forced to visit other hospitals that isn’t easy for locals as the area is prone to wild animal attacks,” Mohammad Zubair, a local resident said.

He added that government must either dismantle the building as no work is being done there since years or make it functional on priority.

Locals said that the women and children folk are unable to visit other hospitals due to the fear of wild animals and a male person has to accompany them due to fear of wild animals and dogs.

They said that had there been healthcare facilities available in the Dadoo village, there wouldn’t have been any necessity for the locals to visit other hospitals or healthcare facilities.

The locals said that the incomplete building is being used for anti social activities and authorities must take cognizance of the issue immediately.

Authorities must complete the building as soon as possible and equip it with modern facilities so that people won’t be forced to visit other places for even minor alignments.

They requested CMO Anantnag and other authorities to look into the matter so that locals won’t suffer any more.
