Police arrests drug peddler in Handwara
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Kralgund near Eidgah, intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Mohammad Amin Bhat @Umar son of Rayaz Ahmad resident of Kralgund. During search, 40 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.49/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Kralgund and investigation has been initiated, he added.
