Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party during routine patrolling near Trauma Hospital Pattan intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During search, 80 grams of Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Akbar Dar resident of Hygam Sopore. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation set in motion, he added.
