Asian Mail Communications observe ‘IWD”

Srinagar: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Asian Mail Communications organised a one-day seminar titled “International Women’s Day and Feminist Rights” in collaboration with the administration of Government Higher Secondary School Dhingi Vichi Rafiabad and Citizen Forum Dingi Wichha Rafiabad Baramulla.

DDC Chairperson Safina Baig, former Director Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, Principal Higher Secondary School Dingi Vichha Fayaz Ahmed, Agriculture Officer Firdous Ahmed, Citizen Forum Chairman Ghulam Nabi Shah, Radio Jockey RJ Deeba were present during the event, a statement issued by the organization said.

National award-winning teacher Humaira Syed, student Farhat Qasim, student Zakira Shaukat, Asha worker Bilqis Bano, writer Hamid Nasir, Editor-in-Chief of Asian Mail Rashid Rahil, other members of Asian Mail team Muhammad Ashraf, Qayum Rafiabadi, Firdous Wani, Mehboob Jeelani also civil society members and local women participated also.

On this occasion, the speakers highlighted the rights of women and said that women also need to be encouraged to protect their dignity and integrity and work to protect their rights.

Speakers also said that the purpose of Women’s Day is to pay tribute to the social, political and economic contribution of women and to work for their welfare. They said that women are not behind in any field but are ahead of men in every field. The speakers also said that the world is progressing only with the contribution of women. In today’s era, women are performing their duties enthusiastically in every field.
