Cultural Unit DIPR holds Mushaira ‘Watan Ke Naam’

SRINAGAR: As part of 74th Republic Day celebrations, Cultural Unit Kashmir of Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) on Saturday organised a patriotic mushaira titled ‘Watan Ke Naam’.

Students from different schools and colleges of Srinagar including Amar Singh College Srinagar, Green Valley Educational Institute Srinagar, JK Police Public School, RP School Malla Bagh, Legends School of Education and Caset Experimental School Srinagar presented their patriotic poems on the occasion.

Mushaira was aimed to explore poetic talent among students and provide them with a platform where they can showcase their talent.

Speaking at the event, Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain said that the celebration of this occasion helps youth and children of the country to be aware of the significance of unity and integrity of this great nation and provides an opportunity to everyone to be proud of their nation endowed with rich and varied heritage.

The Mushaira was adjudicated by Sahitya Academy Yuva Puraskar awardee and noted young poet of Kashmir, Sagar Nazir.

Host of the event, AE&CO Syed Shakeel Shan said that the motive of conducting the series of events on the eve of Republic Day, 2023 is to spread awareness about the importance of the Indian Constitution and the Rights, Duties and Functional procedures enshrined therein.

Notably, all the participants and winners of this series will be honored in the mega event following the main Republic Day Celebration, 2023.
