22 vehicles seized for illegal extraction, transportation of minerals in Gbl: Police
Srinagar: Police have seized 22 vehicles and arrested five persons in Ganderbal over illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in ganderbal.
The Police spokesman said that special police teams were constituted to check the menace of illegal mining in the district.
“During the course of action, five drivers were arrested and 22 vehicles were also seized,” the spokesman said.
He said these vehicles were loaded with Bajri, sand and Boulders illegally extracted from Nallah Sindh Ganderbal.
“Consequently, cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Kheerbawani, PS Ganderbal and PS Lar and investigations have been initiated,” he said.
