Seven held, 7 vehicles seized over illegal extraction of minerals: Police
SRINAGAR: Police have arrested seven persons while seven vehicles were seized in Bandipora over illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Bandipora.
The Police spokesman said that during surprise night checking across the district by the police team three JCB machines and four tippers were seized at Turkpora and Garoora areas of Bandipora.
“Besides, seven persons were also arrested,” he said.
He said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered in concerned police stations and further investigation was in progress.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law.
