DC Shopian chairs DLAMC meeting

SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Saturday convened a meeting of District Level Aadhar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) to discuss the mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.

The meeting was chaired in presence of Sanjeev Mahajan, Director UIDAI Regional Office Chandigarh.

The DC also took a detailed review of the statistics of Aadhar saturation process under different age groups and status of Aadhar Seva Kendras operating in the district.

On the occasion, the DC was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the district. .

The DC termed Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process and called upon all concerned departments to launch mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhar enrolment.

He stressed that progress of Aadhar enrolment target of children between 0-5 years and 5 -18 years must be achieved cent percent in a time bound manner.

The Aadhaar authentication and Aadhar offline verification including use of QR code for Aadhar verification was discussed.

Vaishya appealed to the residents to enroll children below 5 years for Aadhar and also to get Mandatory Biometric updates done (MBU) on attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years. He instructed Education and WCD to hold camps for the purpose.

He also instructed to organize Aadhar camps in Hospitals and vaccination centres to enroll newborns.
