Jammu Railway holds security camp

JAMMU: The Railways department on Monday organised a safety camp in Jammu.

The camp was organized to teach safety rules to railway employees along with their duty.

The inaugural session was held in the presence of Station Director Jammu Uchit Singhal.

It was the first of its kind initiative organized by the Railways in Jammu for the railway operating staff.

“Earlier it was conducted at Firozpur and the employees of this area especially Katra-Udhampur-Jammu-Kathua area faced difficulties in going to Firozpur to avail this security refresher course,” the spokesman said.

Station Director Uchit Singhal said that this session would enable the staff to learn while performing their duties.

He said that earlier Railways used to give TA by sending employees for training to Ferozepur but now the camps will be held in Jammu.

Singhal also inspected the condition of cleanliness and hygiene in the parking and circulating area.

During the inspection he instructed the staff to start the cleanliness drive of drains at the earliest.

Instructions were passed to all the taxi and bus operators working in the area to follow the mandate of cleanliness and cleanliness given in their respective areas.
