Let teaching be priority for teachers rather than showing their interest in manning non-teaching assignments in offices: Spokesperson JKTF Bla

BARAMULLA: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Baramulla has hailed the Directorate of School Education (DSEK) for its decision to relieve all the teachers from the offices.

The JKTF spokesman Baramulla welcomed the reformative move and said the department is serious in improving quality education by relieving all the teachers from various offices which will help teachers to focus on their primary task of teaching.

“Teachers are purely meant for teaching and should be allowed to concentrate on their primary goal of imparting education without any disruption,” he said.

The spokesperson said that for last many years the department has remained busy in making deputations and attachment of teachers which has evoked widespread criticism.

“Many teachers were on deputations on the pretext of clerical jobs or cultural coordinators which consequently had a direct impact on the academics in schools,” he said.

He said the authorities have now observed that retaining a teacher in any office is not only violation but sheer injustice with the students.

“The Teachers Forum seeks strict implementation of detachment orders being issued by higher authorities from time and again. CEOs and ZEOs will play a vital role in implementation of the said detachment order for the larger interest of students,” he said
