Budgam theft case solved, 2 arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police have solved a theft case in Budgam after two persons, involved in commission of crime, were arrested, a police spokesman said.

He said the stolen property was recovered from possession of the arrested persons.

“On May 17, Police Station Chadoora received a written complaint that some thieves entered into premises of two factories titled ‘Bhat Fabrication and Rice Puff Factory’ at Malik Bagh Kralpora and stole away some Machinery equipment,” he said.

He said a case vide FIR No. 88/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated as well.

“An investigating team was constituted and after strenuous efforts one accused person identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar @Bilal Khar son of Abdul Ahad Dar resident of Bilal Colony Qamarwari (A/P Shaltang) Srinagar was arrested,” he said.

The spokesman said that on disclosure of the first arrested person, one more accused person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Khandy son of Ghulam Mohammad Khandy resident of Bilal Colony Qamarwari was also arrested.

“On their disclosure, stolen property including one each Gas cylinder, Stabilizer, cutter, four boxes of Welding electric rods and some Copper wire have been recovered from their possession,” the police spokesman said.

He said that the further investigation into the matter is going on and more arrests and recoveries are expected as well.
