Police arrests eight persons, seizes as many vehicles

Ganderbal: Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Ganderbal arrested eight persons and seized eight vehicles involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said.

He said that a special police team arrested eight persons and seized eight vehicles (06 Tippers, 02 Tractors) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Sindh Ganderbal.

The accused persons have been identified as Zahid Ahmad Dar son of Nisar Ahmad Dar resident of Gangerhuma, Fayaz Ahmad Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmad Malik resident of Chak Fatehpora, Mustafa Ahmad Zargar son of Ghulam Mohammad Zargar resident of Theeru Lar, Bilal Ahmad Sofi son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi resident of Watalbagh, Faizan Ahmad Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar resident of Search, Mohammad Rafiq Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar resident of Search, Khurshid Ah Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar resident of Hakeem Gund and Ajaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Salaam Dar resident of Gangerhama. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
