DGP sanctions Rs 413 Cr welfare relief

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rs 4.5 crore of welfare relief in favour of 343 serving officers and personnel of J&K Police, the police spokesman said on Saturday.

He said the DGP also sanctioned Welfare relief of Rs 7.50 lakh in favour of 40 retired and NoKs of deceased police personnel.

“Under this order, a Welfare loan of Rs 58 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 56 police personnel to meet the expenses of self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents,” he said.

He said the amount sanctioned for the medical treatment ranges from Rs one lakh to three lakhs.

“Besides, welfare relief of Rs 2.85 lakh in favour of eleven Police personnel has also been sanctioned,” the spokesman said.

He said the welfare loan ranging from Rs one lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 270 personnel for the purpose of their own marriage or for marriage of their wards.

“Similarly, a welfare loan of Rs 22.50 lakhs has been sanctioned in favour of 18 Police personnel for pursuing higher education of their wards and Rs 50000 has been sanctioned in favour of one Police person for circumcision of his ward,” he said.

The DGP has also sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 7.85 lakh in favour of 40 retired and NoKs of deceased police personnel to meet their urgent financial needs.

“The amount has been sanctioned out of retired police policemen welfare fund,” the spokesman said.
