Revenue Offices in Kulgam issue 33000 online certificates in 60 days

KULGAM:The J&K government on Tuesday said that several IT initiatives been taken in recent times to transform and promote online public services delivery in the UT of J&K as a result of major shift in the structure of governance.
The official spokesman said the people of Kulgam have warmly accepted the new mechanism with thousands of people reaping the benefits of the government’s initiative within days.
“Under this system, the main emphasis is laid on Government to Citizen (G2C) online services and district Kulgam has shifted nearly 200 services to online mode,” the spokesman said, adding that so far the administration has received a good response of these services with people preferring applying through online mode for various certificates, documents and services.
Meanwhile, through the online mode of services, the revenue department has successfully issued nearly 33000 online certificates within the last 60 days.
This was revealed by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
“Our revenue offices issued nearly 33000 certificates via online mode in the last 60 days, which includes 29894 income certificates, 1405 character certificates, unemployment 82, RBA/OBC 444, EWS 71, legal Heir 54 and 26 ST and other certificates,” he said.
He said the online shift of services has paved a way for transparent, accountable and accessible administration and the initiative is people centric where people need not to visit offices physically anymore.
“This online mode has ensured time bound issuance of certificates, documents and other services to the applicants/people and has infused new vibrancy in the system,” he said.
