Police launches bhang destruction drive in Sopore
SOPORE: Police in Sopore on Monday carried out a wild Bhang destruction drive in Watergam and its adjoining areas.
In a handout issued here, the police spokesman said a police party from Police Station Dangiwacha headed by SHO PS Dangiwacha accompanied with in-charge police post Watergam along with Naib Tehsildar Watergam and officers from Excise department destroyed Wild Bhang and Cannabis spread on about 10 Kanals of land in Watergam area of Sopore and its adjoining areas.
“General public of the area have appreciated the action of the Police and have urged to continue such drives in nearby areas also,” it reads.
The police have urged the community members to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood.
“Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law,” the statement reads.
