Pulwama: The inordinate delay by the Roads and Buildings Department to undertake the up-gradation and maintenance of Prichoo to Washbugh road in district Pulwama is taking a heavy toll on commuters, locals have alleged.
They said that the officials are not paying any kind of attention towards this vital road which connects dozens of villages. Besides, the good condition of the road will ensure smooth traffic flow in the district.
“Various times we have approached the concerned departments through representations, but they are only passing the buck and are playing dilly dallying tactics,” the aggrieved residents said.
The locals of Prichoo, Malikpora, Washbugh and Dangarpora of the town accused the Roads and Buildings Department of having failed to carry out necessary widening and repairing of road.
The locals are now demanding the intervention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to take into account the hardships faced by the locals and get the road repaired at an earliest.
