Block Diwas held at Drugmulla, Guloora, Tarbooni

Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Wednesday chaired a mega Block Diwas function at block headquarter Drugmulla in Kupwara district.
BDC Chairperson Drugmulla, CAHO, CAO, Executive Engineer PDD, DSHO, Tehsildar, BDO, BMO, block officers, besides, PRIs and people in large number participated in the block diwas.
Addressing the block diwas function, the DDC urged the officers to play proactive role in resolving various issues of the public.
He asked officers to work with added dedication and give appropriate time in the field and maintain coordination with the public to yield better results at ground level.
The DDC took various decisions on spot and asked officers to act upon them in letter and spirit.
He asked ACD Kupwara and BDO Drugmulla to ensure auction of RDD shops within one month and report to his office.
Executive Engineer LBDDA was directed to organize awareness camp for home stays. Executive Engineer R&B was asked to complete macadamization of inner links in Drugmulla. Tehsildar Drugmulla was directed to ensure removal of encroachment in the respective area within 15 days. He was also directed to identify land for school at Arampora within four days.
The DDC directed concerned Engineer to visit Redbugh along with PRIs to resolve water supply issue on spot.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was asked to provide medicare facilities to animals.
He also asked all PRIs to ensure full coverage of centrally sponsored schemes in their respective villages.
Earlier, PRIs and senior citizens spoke and put forth their day to day developmental issues of their concerned areas.
Block Diwas programme were also held at Tarbooni Karnah and Guloora Langate which were chaired by SDM Karnah, Dr.Gulzar Ahmad Rather and Tehsildar Langate respectively.
Concerned BDC Chairpersons and PRIs attended the block diwas programmes, besides, officers from local administration. People and PRIs projected their issues which were given reply by the officers.
Later, DC Kupwara chaired a meeting of District Level Forest Rights Act (DLFRA) Committee at D.C Office Kupwara.
The DC stressed upon the members to work with diligence as the onus lies upon them. He directed them to go through the procedures laid down under the Forest Rights Act for its smooth implementation on ground.
The DC also made the participants familiar with the major provisions of the Forest Rights Act.
