DGP sanctions welfare relief of Rs 7.8 lakh

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Dilbag Singh sanctioned Rs 7.85 lakhs as welfare relief for retired police personnel, Next of Kins (NoKs) of deceased police personnel.
In a handout issued here, the police spokesman said the DGP has sanctioned Rs 5.55 lakh in favour of 48 retired police personnel and 10 NoKs of deceased police personnel.
The financial assistance has been provided for their self treatment, treatment of their dependents and marriage of daughters, the spokesman said.
The DGP also sanctioned Rs 2.35 lakhs in favour of NoKs of twenty Police personnel and SPOs for their medical treatment and marriage of their wards.
“Police Headquarter has been providing financial assistance to it serving, retired Police personnel, SPOs and their wards. Schemes are also in place for the assistance of families of the martyrs and deceased police personnel and their wards,” the police spokesman said.
J&K Police headquarters under its different welfare schemes has sanctioned over Rs 62 crore this year so far, he said.
