DIPR Cultural Unit Kmr holds cultural programme

Srinagar: The Cultural Unit Kashmir of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with Department of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Saturday organised an awareness seminar cum cultural programme at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kanir, Budgam.
On the occasion, students of GHSS Kanir spoke on the topics ‘Side Effects of Junk Food’ and ‘Save environment’.
Addressing the gathering, Principal GHSS Kanir said that the components of junk food are very harmful and lead to serious illnesses. They are not body-friendly and rather increase the fat levels of the body which leads to cholesterol, blood pressure, heart diseases, obesity, and depression, she said adding that such foods even though delicious are damaging.
Students also spoke about the hazards caused by man to the environment. In their speeches, the students suggested ways and means to save the environment. They also presented colourful cultural programmes.
Awards of honour were presented to first three positions in speech to Fazil Yousuf, Mehrukh Mustafa and Nowsheen Fayaz respectively.
Trophies and certificates of participation were presented to the Principal and participants.
