Police arrests four persons, seizes vehicles
Budgam: Police in Budgam on Wednesday arrested four persons and seized four vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said.
The four vehicles seized include one JCB and three tippers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Government land at Radbugh Magam.
The police have identified the accused as Mohammad Qasim Malik son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Chair, Waseem Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Majid resident of Panzinara, Younis Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Abdullah resident of Khawaja Gund Khag and Zubair Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Rasheed Wani resident of Mujgund Parimpora. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 80/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation set into motion, the police spokesman said.
“Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units,” the spokesman said
