DC reviews arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani

Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal Shyambir on Thursday visited Kheer Bhawani temple Tulmulla to take stock of arrangements for annual Mela Kheer Bhawani.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held regarding lodging and bedding facilities besides repairing works of lavatory blocks, lighting, sanitation, barricading and establishment of a joint control room.
The arrangement of health facilities, parking of vehicles, fool-proof security and availability of essential commodities, route plan besides face-lifting in and around the temple was also discussed in the meeting.
The DC directed the concerned departments of the district to make necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, transport, security, fire tenders, ration, accommodation, medical facilities, macadamization of roads and other related arrangements at the temple.
The officials of the municipality were also directed to start intensive sanitation drives within and on approaching road stretch to the temple prior to the Mela besides ensuring installation of dustbins at appropriate places within the premises and market.
The DC discussed department-wise facilities provided for the devotees. He stressed on the concerned authorities to be proactive and make every possible effort for smooth conduct of the Mela.
He later took a visit around the temple and took stock of arrangements put in place.
He directed the officers concerned and representatives of Dharmarth Trust to ensure that the devotees coming to pay obeisance are provided with requisite facilities and foolproof mechanism should be put in place to ensure smooth conduct of this Mela.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, ADC Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba. Other senior officers from district administration and police besides representatives of Darmath Trust were also present in the meeting.
