Gram Swaraj Mahina: DDC Council Anantnag reviews activity schedule

ANANTNAG: In view of the Gram Swaraj Mahina and related activities being taken up from 1st April, the District Development Council Anantnag Tuesday held a detailed review of the activity schedule here.
The council on the occasion resolved to implement the 100 point programme in letter and spirit.
Speaking at the event, Chairman MY Gorsi said that the 100 point programme aims to ensure grassroots penetration of various welfare measures, promote mass participation and spread awareness among the public about various govt initiatives.
He said the PRIs at all three levels will strive to ensure the programme is implemented on ground in letter and spirit. He said that gram sabhas and various other measures like sanitation drives, inauguration of works and sports activities have already commenced as part of Gram Swaraj Mahina.
Gorsi said the PRIs should ensure that there is thorough deliberation on development plans and local considerations are tailored into the plans. The plans must be reflective of local priorities.
The ADDC while briefing the council explained the various targets stipulated under the scheme. He said that saturation of welfare measures will be taken up in a mission mode.
The DDC members present appreciated the efforts of district administration and assured complete cooperation.
The ACP said that the focus is on achieving tangible results in all interventional programs and PRIs – Administration cooperation is critical to time bound achievement of results.
On the sidelines a sensitization session was held for the PRIs by DTC Anantnag. DTO Syed Faheem briefed the council about the recent gold award bagged by Anantnag in SNC Survey for TB Elimination. He said that the aim is to make the district TB free by next year and the PRIs participation will be critical in this regard. A powerpoint presentation was also held on the occasion.
