Imagine living in a society where people turn testing situations into publicity gaining opportunities and earn laurels and praises for the work that has been messed up rather than completed.

Examples of showing utter disregard to professional and societal commitments are turned into big feats and achievements, and all this is done with some so called media men being hired to showcase the work that has rather been ignored than accomplished.

The society we are citing here is the very own in which we live and claim to thrive, but in reality we are part of the dead spirit that has already turned us into turn coats and sycophants.

Kashmir and its people like the entire world is facing a very precarious situation where deaths seem inevitable and the aftermath of death turns out to be more challenging that the death itself. Covid-19 has exposed the very core of our inner beings by showing our real face in these demanding situations. And our medicos who were crowned to be the saviors’ have failed us yet again.

The allegations and the brazen neglect that is being witnessed in hospitals and quarantine centres is proving us right yet again that Kashmiri lives do not matter. The approach of the medicos towards corona infected patients has been pathetic and miserable as various instances have come forward that point out towards negligence of highest order.

All the Covid-19 designated hospitals are showing utter disregard to those patients and even their attendants who have been infected by the virus. The treatment we know is not available as of now for this deadly disease, but the medicines that are still being prescribed and put to use elsewhere are not being provided to positive patients.

In hospitals the word protocol is being used to harass the Covid patents and what is being provided to them does not even qualify the base line requirements to fight the viral infection.

A common complaint by the patients is that they have been left at the mercy of God with medicos showing least interest in helping out the patients. This is evident from the news reports on medical negligence we get from the hospitals every day.

Apart from the hospitals the quarantine centres are another form of punishment that the people are facing. Asymptomatic Covid patients who have been put in various quarantine centres too have the same story to narrate.

These patients have been left isolated with doctors showing no concern to treat them as most of these cases are already suffering from some other ailments as well. Patients have been left in the quarantine centres that too unattended and if someone raises a voice he is threatened to be dispatched to a far off centre or face police action.

We are aware of the limited healthcare infrastructure available here but that does not mean the medicos and the paramedics will absolve themselves of their responsibilities. We are facing a pandemic situation, one that threatens you as well, but that does not entitle anybody to shun away from his commitments to his profession.
