11 year old boy dies after hit by army vehicle in Kupwara
Kupwara: A speedy army vehicle hit a minor boy in Shadipora Keegam Kupwara here in North Kashmir on Friday late night.
The boy according to locals died on the spot.
Local sources said that a speedy army vehicle hit the minor boy and even after hitting him, the vehicle didn’t stop.
Locals gathered and took the boy to hospital but doctors declared him as brought dead, reports said.
The locals staged a protest against the Army and raised anti-army slogan.
“It is a routine matter for the army drivers to drive fast. Action should be taken against these killer drivers,” they said.
When contacted SSP Kupwara Shri Ram Ambedkar said that prima facie it seems that Army vehicle hit and killed the minor boy. He said that investigation is going on.
“We are trying to confirm which Army Unit’s vehicle was involved in the mishap. We are going to take action under law,” SSP Kupwara said. (KNT)
