Mirwaiz Umar leaves for Delhi, to face NIA team today
Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday morning left for New Delhi to face questioning at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters later in the day.
Mirwaiz has been summoned by the NIA thrice since the past few weeks in connection with the alleged militancy funding case. Mirwaiz, who till today had cited various reasons for not travelling to Delhi was finally made to face the NIA officials today.
Umar will however, be accompanied by all Hurriyat (M) leaders to Delhi.
The announcement to travel to Delhi was made after Mirwaiz chaired a crucial meeting of the executive, general and working committee of the amalgam at his Nigeen residence on Sunday. After the meeting, Mirwaiz also held deliberations with the Awami Action Committee (AAC) leaders and members.
