Gunfight rages in Tral Village
Srinagar, April 07: A gunfight is raging between militants and government forces in Medora area of Kahil Branpathri Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 42 RR and SOG Awantipora cordoned off Medora area Kahil Branpathri after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
A senior Police official confirmed that some exchange of fire has taken place between militants and government forces in the area.
Initial exchange of fire took place and at present search operation is on in the area, he said. (KNO)
