Drug peddlers arrested in Kupwara, Sopore

Srinagar: Kupwara police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 02 kilograms of charas from their possession.
Acting on specific information, a naka was laid near HarkarporaAwoora and two suspicious persons were intercepted. “On their personal search, two kilograms of charas concealed in two polythene bags was recovered,” police spokesman said.
“In this regard, a case FIR No 88/2018 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated,” police said.
Meanwhile, Sopore police also claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Acting on specific information, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Dangiwacha laid a naka near Golden Gate School, police spokesman said.
“During naka checking, naka party intercepted a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01W-0944. On checking the vehicle, 11 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from two persons. Both the persons were taken into custody,” police said, adding that a case under FIR number 166/2018 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
