Pregnant woman killed in cross fire, says police
Srinagar: Police on Friday said that a woman was killed in cross fire at Shadimarg area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
SP Pulwama Chandan Kholi said that militants fired a UBGL grenade towards an army camp in Shadimarg.
Soon after the blast, there was an exchange of fire for some time, he said, adding that in the cross firing a woman, identified as Firdousa wife of Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh of Qasbayar, Shadimarg, received bullet injury.
She was taken to PHC Rajpora where from she was referred to the district hospital, however, she succumbed to injuries there.
A senior doctor at district hospital Pulwama said that the woman was six months pregnant. (GNS)
