Drop charges against Kashmiri students: JRL to AMU

Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the sedition charges levelled against two Kashmiri students in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) over planning Nimaz-e-jinaza prayers for their colleague and PhD scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani.

JRL including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik as per a statement issued here said that the atmosphere of fear and intimidation being created for Kashmiri students who said that “more and more students are being named and framed with fake charges”.

“It is very unfortunate and deeply disturbing that Kashmir students studying in India are being targeted,” the trio said, demanding concerned authorities should to put an end to the harassment and drop the charges of sedition against the two students.
