AMU revokes suspension orders against Kashmiri students

Srinagar: Hours after Governor Satya Pal Malik spoke with Union Minister and authorities at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), the suspension orders against two Kashmiri students was revoked on Tuesday evening.

Reports said that that the varsity administration revoked suspension and sedition charges against Kashmiri students following the students threatened to quit en masse.

The students had earlier threatened to quit en masse in case the suspension orders against two Kashmiri students were not revoked.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik had also spoke with Union Minister and AMU authorities regarding the suspension orders of Kashmir students who were suspended after they offered funeral prayers in absentia for their colleague, Dr Abdul Manan Wani who had joined militant ranks this year and was killed on last Thursday during a gunfight in Kupwara district.
