Police arrests man for ‘burning’ down Panchayat Ghar

Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a youth involved in burning down the Panchayat Ghar at Kultreh village of Budgam’s Chadoora area.
On September 19 unknown persons had set a Panchayat Ghar on fire at Kultreh village.
SSP Budgam, Tejinder Singh told media persons that the investigation was initiated by the police regarding the case and during investigation based on important clues and leads Muzaffar Ahmad Wani (20), S/O Ghulam Mohideen Wani, a resident of DoulatPora Chadoora was detained for questioning.
The accused admitted his role in the crime, the SSP said.
“He was on the spot and he himself set Panchayat Ghar on fire. Police is probing to find out other culprits involved in the crime,” Singh said.
After Wani admitted to his involvement in the case, during search of his house, police said, ‘some incriminating material including three empty magazines, a pouch and the clothes that Wani was wearing at time of incident were recovered.’
