Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday strongly condemned what he termed as ‘brutal assault’ on Kashmiri student at Noida Delhi in which the student has sustained grave injuries.

Malik according to a statement issued here said, “Kashmiri student Ahtisham was assaulted by goons near Sharda University where he is perusing education. He was beaten ruthlessly while police was watching silently and in a way abetting the goons. Even the role of university authorities has been shameful and disgusting.”

Malik said that “this was not first time when a Kashmiri faced brutal face but part of a larger war that the state and media has started against Kashmiris.”

“Kashmiris are being pushed to the wall by the state and fanatic goons that are working at the orders of their political masters and attacking Kashmiris,” Malik said, adding that “this situation is very serious and Kashmiris will no longer sit silent on these attacks on their kith and kin. If authorities failed to stop these heinous attacks Kashmiris will be left with no option but to launch a fully fledged agitation against it.”

Meanwhile, Malik also paid tributes to slain Manzoor Ahmad Butt on his anniversary.

“Slain Manzoor Ahmad Butt was the younger brother of Father of Kashmiri nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt and embraced martyrdom on 4th October 1995,” he said.

Recalling his struggle and sacrifices, Malik said that the slain Manzoor kept treading the path of struggle and sacrifices as shown by his elder brother Muhammad Maqbool Butt and rendered the ultimate sacrifice in the way of truth and freedom.

He said that “blood of great martyrs cannot go waste and struggle nourished by this sacred blood will be taken to its desired goal at every cost.”

A condolence meeting was also held at JKLF office in which special prayers were held for the slain persons.
