Lal Chowk turns into fortress ahead of JRL protest march
Srinagar: Restrictions have been imposed in Seinagar parts to thwart the Joint Resistance Leadership called march to Lal Chowk against Kulgam killings.
City centre Lal Chowk has been sealed by the government forces.
Police and CRPF troopers have been deployed around Ghanta Ghar to stop people from assemblinfg.
Restrictions are in imposition in other city parts as well including Ashai Bagh bridge in Nigeen,in Hawal, Barbar Shah, Khayam and other areas to foil the JRL call.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges in many parts of the Valley have been closed by the authorities today amid apprehensions of protests by the students. Class work has been suspended in most educational institutions in Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and south Kashmir parts as a “precautionary measure”.
Traffic police has already issued an advisory that no traffic movement will be allowed between Amira Kadal and Regal chowk while trafic coming from South Kashmir too has been diverted.
