Militating against youth proving calamitous for Kashmir: PDP
Says NC pushed JK in precipice of disaster
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday castigated former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his recent statement, saying that it was the national conference regime that pushed the state to the precipice of disaster.
In a statement issued here, PDP chief spokesman Rafi Ahmad Mir stated that the NC Vice President by issuing such nefarious and uncalled for statements is in actual striving hard to wangle his way into the corridors of power.
Mir, however, maintained that such unnatural and bizarre remarks of the NC leader will elicit no response from the people of the state as they have been witness to the tyrannical and corruptible rule unleashed upon the state by national conference.
Mir while addressing the party workers at South Kashmir’s Pahalgham reiterated that PDP’s stand has always been to get the state out of the squalid conditions and strengthen the institutes of dialogue and reconciliation with the most impeccable will and determination.
Mir said that it had been the cardinal principle of the PDP that militating against the youth could turn the state into an inferno and on the contrary, more Confidence Building Measures are needed to turn the otherwise restive state into a tranquil one.
He added that the party since inception has been pitching for the resolution of Kashmir issue and sustenance of peace and tranquility so that the people bearing the brunt of animosity between the two countries could heave a sigh of relief.
Mir remarked further that the hostile approach against the people of the state will prove more calamitous and has the tendency to alienate the youth further while making them disgruntled against the democratic institutions.
The PDP chief spokesman added that despite the medley of the internal troubles with the coalition, the PDP led government always stood at the forefront to ensure that state’s interests aren’t bartered against the petty power and this was the reason that the BJP was compelled to topple the government.
“Otherwise, if PDP would have taken the diktats from the BJP , the party would have never been compelled to take away its support and pave way for the governor’s rule in the state. This is the highest form of evidence proving that the PDP stood for its people and refused to surrender its stand,” Mir said in his address.
Mir said that the remonstrance by the PDP against any injustice perpetuated against the people of the state is known to all and the guiding principle set by party’s founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will act as a torch bearer for the PDP’s future coarse of action as well.
“When was the time when PDP didn’t pitch for reconciliation and taking all parties on board including Pakistan for the resolution of Kashmir issue. It was the PDP founder who initiated a new era of peace in the state by opening Muzaffarabad road and by making Kashmir as a bridge for the thaw between the two countries,” said the PDP chief spokesman.
