Congress submits memorandum to Governor against Rafael deal
Srinagar: The district congress committee Srinagar on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Governor Satya Pal Malik through Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar against Rafael deal carried out by the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the statement issued here, District Congress Committee Srinagar in continuation of its nation-wide agitation against the Rafael Deal organized a meeting of senior party workers and leaders of the district and lodged a strong protest against the deal.
The party leaders and workers in a meeting held at PCC Office Srinagar presided over by District President Irfan Naqib raised slogans against the Rafael Deal and blamed BJP for benefitting a particular Corporate Giant of the country to serve it’s vested interests.
“The Rafael Deal has put a burden of thousands of crores on the exchequer, this way central government is looting the nation in an organized manner. The Rafael Deal is one among the big scandals as demonetization exercise conducted by the federal government,” the congress said.
They said the BJP government at the centre has damaged the economy of the country to benefit corporates, so that the money keeps pumping in their treasuries for fighting 2019 elections, but the people of country have realized that vote to BJP amounts to strengthening corruption, communalism, besides strengthening the fascist forces in the country, they said, adding that the Congress will defeat the designs of BJP and will ensure ‘BJP mukth bharat’.
Later, Congress leaders led by Irfan Naqib submitted a detailed memorandum to Governor through Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar.
