Police arrest six rumor mongers in Batmaloo

Srinagar: Police claimed to have arrested six rumour mongers for spreading rumours of braid chopping in the vicinity of Batmaloo.

According to the police, these rumour mongers were taking advantage of this to instigate general public for protests and to motivate the youth of Batmaloo area to pelt stones upon deployed security forces in the Batmaloo area.

“Basic aim of these detained rumour mongers wad to disrupt peace and tranquillity of the valley, so that the people of the locality take out processions against government,” police said.

“Keeping in view the gravity of rumours of braid chopping, all these six rumour mongers have been arrested in case FIR no. 163/2017 of police station Batmaloo,”Police added.
