Himachal Pradesh to go to polls on Nov 9; counting on Dec 18

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Thursday announced that Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh would be held on November 9 in a single phase.

The results will be announced on December 18.

Announcing this at the press conference here, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AK Joti said that EVMs with VVPATs will be used on all polling booths for 68 assembly seats.
As expected dates for Gujarat assembly polls were not announced simultaneously but the CEC said the election will be held in the state before December 18.
There will be 7521 polling stations with disabled-friendly systems. (Agencies)
