Yatri found dead in bus at Pantha Chowk Yatra Niwas
Srinagar, July 12: A 40-year-old Amarnath Yatri was found dead inside a bus parked outside Yatra Niwas at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday.
Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Himat Batti alias Joga Singh, a resident of Punjab.
The Yatri was found unconscious inside the parked bus by fellow Yatris and staff. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival, the official said.
Police has taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary legal proceedings, officials added.
The cause of death is being ascertained and further investigation is underway.(GNS)
