Youth found hanging in separate incidents in Jammu
Jammu: A body of a 50-year-old woman was recovered from a canal, and in a separate incident, a youth was found hanging at his residence here on Tuesday, officials said.
The woman’s body was spotted floating in the canal by some villagers in the Nowabad area on the outskirts of Jammu city, the officials said.
A police team later arrived at the spot, retrieved the body and moved it to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Efforts are underway to ascertain her identity and the circumstances leading to her death, police said.
In the second incident, police said the body of Daleep Kumar was found hanging with a rope from the ceiling of his room at Agra Chak village in R S Pura area in the city outskirts.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the actual cause of death, the officials said, adding that preliminary investigations suggested that the youth had committed suicide.
