LG Saxena participates in annual Hemis Festival
Praises Ladakh’s rich Buddhist heritage
Leh: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Wednesday visited the revered Hemis Monastery here and participated in the annual festival, one of Ladakh’s most significant spiritual and cultural celebrations.
He described the festival as a reflection of Ladakh’s timeless Buddhist heritage, vibrant traditions, and deep spiritual values.
“Blessed to have visited the revered Hemis Monastery and participated in the annual Hemis Festival, one of Ladakh’s most significant spiritual and cultural celebrations.
“This sacred festival, dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, reflects Ladakh’s timeless Buddhist heritage, its vibrant traditions, and the collective devotion of thousands of devotees and visitors who gather to witness the sacred rituals, mask dances, and prayers,” the Lt Governor said in a post on X.
Saxena extended his heartfelt appreciation to the monks of Hemis Monastery and the people of Ladakh for preserving and showcasing this invaluable cultural legacy to the world.
“May the blessings of Guru Padmasambhava guide us towards peace, harmony, and spiritual enlightenment,” he said.
