Army conference deliberates emerging challenges in tactical, technological domains
Jaipur: A review of security situation along the western sector and the measures to enhance operational preparedness was held during a two-day Formation Commanders’ Conference of Army’s south western command here, officials said on Saturday.
The conference, held on June 5 and 6, was chaired by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, commander of the Jaipur-based Sapta Shakti (south-western) command.
According to a defence spokesperson, the conference provided a platform for senior commanders to deliberate on the prevailing security environment and emerging challenges in the tactical and technological domains.
Discussions focused on modernisation, adoption of niche technologies, cyber security, capacity and capability development, and promotion of self-reliance in defence preparedness.
The commanders reviewed the current security situation and examined the implications of evolving operational and technological trends. They also discussed measures aimed at strengthening combat effectiveness and maintaining a high level of operational readiness.
Addressing the conference, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh highlighted the importance of technology-driven solutions and innovative approaches in dealing with emerging threats. He also underlined the need for realistic and systematic training supported by comprehensive assessments to improve mission effectiveness, the spokesperson said.
The Army commander also reviewed initiatives aimed at promoting professionalism, innovation and competitive excellence among formations.
As part of the event, competitions involving drone sub-units, sports teams and marksmanship were organised. Lt Gen Singh felicitated the winners and commended participants for their professionalism and dedication.
He called upon all formations to maintain high standards of operational preparedness and remain ready to meet emerging challenges across the conflict spectrum, the spokesperson said.
