Police attaches property worth lacs under NDPS Act in Budgam

Srinagar: In its continued efforts to curb drug trafficking and dismantle the financial networks of narcotics peddlers, Police in Pulwama has attached a double-storey residential house worth ₹19.65 lakh belonging to a drug peddler involved in an NDPS case, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that the attached property comprises a double-storey concrete house built in 2023 over Plot No. 445 measuring 828.5 sq ft at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam and belongs to Towfeeq Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh resident of Yariban Hajitra Karnah, Kupwara and at present Housing Colony Ompora Budgam.
The property has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, 1985 in connection with FIR No. 124/2025 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Rajpora. Investigation revealed that the property is disproportionate to the known sources of income of the accused and have been acquired through proceeds of illicit narcotic trafficking, the spokesman added.
