Dear Sir,

BHAVYA Scheme: Industrial Boom or White Elephant?

The Centre’s 33,660 crore Bhavya scheme to develop 100 plug & play industrial parks sounds visionary yet it risks becoming another bureaucratic white elephant. Allocating four months for states to rush applications for 50 parks under a competitive model is recklessly hurried.

True industrial hubs require meticulous environmental impact studies and robust logistics not politically motivated hasty approvals. Furthermore, with 20 parks targeted in just the first two months quality will inevitably be sacrificed for speed.

Instead of creating hollow concrete zones the Commerce Ministry must mandate strict 80% pre occupancy commitments from anchor investors before releasing funds. True success lies in matching infrastructure with actual market demand not merely meeting aggressive cabinet timelines.
