Cong holds review of organizational restructuring in Jammu
Says opposition needs to be responsive
Jammu: Asserting that issues of unemployment, inflation and “inadequate” civic facilities required an active and responsive opposition connected with the masses, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress on Monday held a meeting to review the party’s ongoing organisational restructuring campaign.
The Congress reiterated its commitment to strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level and called upon workers to actively participate in ongoing ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’.
“Strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level was the need of the hour and every Congress worker must actively participate in the campaign with dedication and discipline,” J-K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla told reporters here.
He said booth and ward-level workers were the backbone of the organisation and the party leadership was committed to empowering active workers at every level.
Bhalla said the Congress has always stood with the people and raised issues concerning common citizens, adding that a stronger organisational structure would further enhance the party’s ability to effectively highlight public concerns and remain connected with the masses.
He said strengthening the organisation required continuous public outreach, regular interaction with people and strong coordination among party workers at all levels.
Referring to issues faced by people in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhalla alleged that unemployment, inflation, rising public grievances and inadequate civic facilities required an active and responsive opposition connected with the masses.
Bhalla said that Congress workers must continue to work among the people and raise issues concerning youth, traders, women and common citizens in a strong and democratic manner. He also reviewed various organisational activities being carried out under the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ and discussed the roadmap for the campaign.
Senior Congress leader and PCC Coordinator Mula Ram described the organisational restructuring campaign as an important initiative aimed at energising the cadre and strengthening coordination between party workers and leadership across Jammu Urban.
He added that strengthening booth, mandal and block committees would help the party expand its reach to every household and improve communication with the public at the grassroots level.
Former minister Yogesh Sawhney said the campaign was not merely a routine organisational programme but a determined effort to rebuild and strengthen the Congress party from the grassroots level.
He said the campaign would help identify committed workers and build a stronger organisational network capable of effectively addressing public issues.
The leaders expressed confidence that the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan Phase-2 would provide fresh energy and long-term stability to the Congress organisation in Jammu and Kashmir while strengthening the connection between the party and the public.
