Workers allege violation of SRO-375, demand transparency and district-wise implementation

Anantnag: Scores of Daily Rated Workers (PDLs/TDLs) on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest at the Circle Office in Bijbehara, voicing strong resentment over the prolonged delay in their regularization in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protesting workers accused the authorities of failing to implement the provisions of SRO-375 in its true spirit, particularly those related to district cadre-based regularization.
They said the delay has not only caused uncertainty among employees but also led to alleged discrimination and violation of seniority rights.
“We have been waiting for years, but there is no concrete progress on our regularization. The rules under SRO-375 are clear, yet they are not being followed,” said one of the protesting workers. “This has created injustice, as many eligible workers are being sidelined.”
The protesters expressed concern over what they termed as a lack of transparency in the process. According to them, there is no clarity regarding the preparation of seniority lists or the criteria being adopted for regularization.
“We don’t know how the lists are being finalized or why district-wise segregation has not been carried out. This ambiguity has led to mistrust among workers,” another employee said, adding that many fear losing their rightful place due to procedural lapses.
The union reiterated its key demands, including immediate segregation of employee records on a district basis, proper forwarding of files as per district cadre norms, and strict adherence to SRO-375 to ensure a fair and transparent process.
“We are not asking for favors. We are simply demanding that the government follow its own rules and deliver justice to all PDLs and TDLs,” a union member said.
The protesting employees urged the concerned authorities to address their long-pending issues without further delay so that they won’t have to  suffer anymore
